Posted on 30-06-2008

Hidden Valley Drag Racing Association presents the “Southern Cross Television Night of Thunder”

Saturday July 19th will see Victor and Ben Bray unleash 6500 horsepower on the Valley in their supercharged Top Doorslammers in what has become Darwin’s premium Drag Racing event of the year!

Head to the track to witness the showdown when these cars hit zero to 300km/h in 4 seconds, and take on the local drag racing talent in a no holds barred supercharged shootout.

With Ben Bray just completing his first 5sec Top Doorslammer pass  at the Winternationals what's the bet he's going to try and beat Hidden Valley's track record!

Make sure you check out the displays at Casuarina Shopping Square leading up to the 19th July. If you can't make it out to Casuarina, you definately can't miss the Mitchell Street parade at lunchtime on Thursday 17th July where you will see and HEAR the thunder of Team Bray Racing driving through the streets of Darwin from 12pm.

Hidden Valley hits Youtube
Posted on 24-06-2008

Thanks to Darwin Video Displays, Hidden Valley has gone high tech and ventured into the online video world of Youtube.

What better way to start than with the amazing footage of the first ever side by side 6 second pass by Territorians at Hidden Valley. For those who missed being there, local racers Matt Abel and Bronte Henning went head to head, both cracking the 6 second barrier to reset the record books.

Darwin Video Displays and HVDRA will be releasing more clips in the near future so make sure you visit the website regularly.

2008 Shannons Motoring Extravaganza
Posted on 14-06-2008

THOUSANDS of revheads converged on Winnellie Showgrounds for yesterday's Motoring Extravaganza.

Organisers said 3000 visitors feasted their eyes on cars, bikes and trikes of all shapes and size.

Jennifer Ellsley, 20, of Nightcliff and Emma Westlund, 17, of Humpty Doo reassembled a Holden four cylinder motor in 4.15 minutes as part of the Shannons Flyer Spanners yesterday.

Derrek Sperrer's new supercharged Willy's was unveiled yesterday with a gleaming gold paint scheme. Its sure to be a flash of gold when it hits the strip later this year.

Highlights of the weekend include the entire 2008 Harley Davidson range of 23 motorcycles on display as well as classic T Model Ford's as part of a 180-day tour around Australia to mark their 100th birthday as well as the roaring 490ci Holden HR of Trevor Webber that scared the crowd as it fired into life yesterday afternoon.

Winter Wonderland for Benny Bray
Posted on 11-06-2008

Three-time Australian champion Ben Bray brushed aside the disappointments of what could only be described as a difficult year to claim the Castrol Edge Winternationals title.

It was Ben's second 'Winters' crown and came on the back end of a tidy pre-event test day. Team Bray (after a long battle) appears to be dialling in the Castrol Edge Monaro well.

A series of good reaction times and a fantastic semi final win against John Zappia that saw Ben lay down a 6.011 to Zaps 6.033 brought the Willowbank Raceway fans to their feet.

His finals victory was the icing on the cake to finish off a fantastic Castrol EDGE Winternationals for Team Bray.
